Back at you! I've been thinking about you as I've been seeing reports of a lot military mobilization down your way. Part of the work I did in grad school involved studying the Ditadura Militar, so I'm really hoping history doesn't repeat here. 🙏
Hi Sol. Today I don't even know if the history that the media told us from that time is true or not. I was born during the period and indeed was a peaceful and prosperous one. My father was even member of the opposition party and nothing bad happened. I believe that now we are on the threat of a left-wing dictatorship here, much more dangerous. Right-wing protesters are not violent neither antidemocratic, they just want election transparency and audit. Those images you saw from abroad are hand-picked and no military mobilization whatsoever is happening (although many people think it is the last resource against the leftist tyranny). The country is on stand-by, baffled and expecting a disastrous leftist government ahead.
I have always been the square peg in the round hole. Have always seen the world differently than my peers and at this age (72) it matters not why anymore, it just is. LOL
