my first experiments with mescaline & other such teachers revealed the world made up of 'pixels'
once while staring at the small flame of an oil lamp, those colour dots (pixels) began to recede into the distance as though a gentle breeze was blowing them. what I could see of the room & even my body were slowing receding into the distance & I became so frightened that I reached across the lamp & touched the hand of my friend to 'bring me back' (to the everyday, ordinary world
many years later, while reading a mantra to recite while offering a ghee lamp to the Lord, I found these words, 'I offer my abundant appreciation to this flame that shines both without & within'. at this point I understood what happened that fateful night. while staring at the flame my consciousness began to enter an Inner dimension via that flame, hence my perception of the room & my body was receding into the distance. If only I hadn't become ensnared by fear who knows what I might have gotten to see!
